Bitcoin moves back up after dropping below $60,000

Bitcoin opened at $63,310.30 on Monday, June 8, up 4% from Sunday's open, while Ethereum jumped 7.7% to $1,689.78. Both majors started the week on the front foot after a brutal previous week that had briefly pushed Bitcoin below $60,000 — its lowest since October 2024.

The Monday bounce hinted at bargain-hunting after the early-June capitulation, even as the broader picture — record ETF outflows and geopolitical tension — remained unresolved.

The recovery would prove choppy, with prices sliding again midweek before the mid-month ceasefire sparked a more durable rally.
