Bitcoin closes its worst month since June 2022

As July opened, Bitcoin was nursing its steepest monthly loss in four years after a brutal June of ETF outflows, hawkish Fed repricing and geopolitical shocks.
Bitcoin entered July having just posted its worst month since June 2022. A punishing June was defined by record-long ETF outflows, a hawkish Federal Reserve, and geopolitical whiplash from the U.S.–Iran conflict — a combination that dragged BTC into the low-$60,000s after it briefly slipped below $60,000.
Ethereum fared no better, trading near multi-month lows as risk appetite evaporated across the market.
The date also marked a regulatory milestone: July 1 was the day Binance's suspension of EU services took effect after the exchange failed to secure a MiCA license — a reminder that Europe's new rulebook was reshaping the market even as prices bottomed.
